The Hunt

Since generations hunting is one of the most important sources of income for Namibia. In addition a strict nature protection scheme and custom-made rules concerning hunting have been established. Since the game is the daily bread for many farmers, protection by controlled hunting is enforced. The consequence is a vast quantity of game and gold trophys.

The hunt with Omupanda Jagd Safari cc is under the guidance of manager and professional hunter Hans-Wolf von Schumann. Together with his German short hair hunting dog Cleopatra they track down successfully even wounded game.

The hunt takes place usually according to the hunter's wish . We track on foot or use the numerous blind stands.

We advise to plan at least seven days for the trip. For guaranteed success the hunt should be fourteen days.

Gold, silver and bronze medals, together with a certificate are awarded for excellent trophys by the association of hunting clubs in Namibia (NAPHA). We organise those medals from NAPHA on behalf of you.

We recommend proper footwear and Khaki clothing including a warm hunting jacket. Long trousers are for protection against the thorn shrubs and do not forget to bring a hat. Warm clothing will be necessary in the months of May, June, July and August as it could be cold at times. Bring along sun protection.
